Canon or Nikon?
I have never owned a Nikon Camera before but now for the very first time, I do own one. I have a Canon EF 35mm Film SLR with a 50mm f/1.8 lens, a Canon EOS 1000F Auto Focus 35mm Film SLR Camera with a Canon 28-80 mm f/3.5-5.6 II EF AF Zoom Lens and a Canon EOS Rebel XSi 12.2 MP Digital SLR Camera with EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS Lens – Black which I use all the time for my photography adventures. I also use point and shoot digital cameras (Sony, Olympus & Canon) for convenience especially at busy dinner parties and travel trips that’s so hectic.
Canon and Nikon have always been on the eternal nemesis rivalry and for the life of me and everyone else I’ve known, we have no idea why this have happened for years, ever since I can remember. I’m making peace with Nikon my own way by trying their product that everyone else on the other camp says is better than Canon. I am doing this for my own satisfaction and I’m not out to prove whether Canon is better than Nikon. I’ve done this for my own peace of mind.
I know for a fact that Nikon is more expensive than Canon, that’s why I settled for Canon because it is affordable. Now that I can buy good and mint used cameras, film or digital, at reasonable and affordable prices then I will try both brands. I just bought a working and used Nikon Pronea S Advantix APS Film AF Auto Focus SLR with IX-Nikkor 30-60mm f/4-5.6 and got it for a ‘song’ (so cheap) on Camera Works Store. Next on my bucket list is a Nikon D3100 14.2MP Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 AF-S DX VR Nikkor Zoom Lens, brand new and a little more on the expensive side. And my own Nikon adventure is just beginning. I will update you on my next blog.

Remember that the photographer behind the camera creates those lasting memorable images. As they say it is just “a means to an end”, that’s the beauty of it all! Canon or Nikon doesn’t really matter much to me anymore. Let’s face the truth that no matter what brand or whatever kind of camera and gadgets you have in your hands that you can make use of; be it film camera SLR or digital camera DSLR, or perhaps a simple point and shoot digital camera, the end result still depends on how the photographer managed to take a good photograph and then capture a memorable picture. And that’s all that counts!
