Lakbay Pilipinas Blog will be on Sabbatical Leave to Pursue my other Dreams….
Sabbatical means to take a leave from office work, job or blogging career.
I will start painting again, when my new year’s resolution takes effect after midnight on the new year’s eve and on the 1st day of January 2014 my new life begins. Out with the Old Life and in with the New Life. And when I accomplish my Toronto Skyline 2014 Project – TO (Toronto Skyline), I will then go to the next project Philippines Scenery (Pilipinas Landmarks). Then I will move on to my photography hobby. Take my Canon EOS XSi (450D) DSLR Camera for a whirlwind tour and get lots of new photographs, then start a collection for my coming Solo Photography Exhibit planned for 2015.
The New Year 2014 is going to be another banner year for me. In 2013, I successfully launched my Travel/Personal Blog Website, www.lakbaypilipinas.ca with the generous assistance of my great friend, Cille who has her very own successful Travel/Food Trip Blog Website Penfires and she also hosted my blog. Way to go Cille! My lasting gratitude for making my blogger’s dream come true. You are awesome and one in a million! I have often reminded myself to tell you that but I kept forgetting because every time we chat online, there’s so much to talk about in life, travel, family and blogs. My gratitude for your great help in making my dream come true once and for all. Now, I can blog and talk about my travels, my hobbies and my life’s experiences.
I have a book to finish writing to be dedicated to my mother. It’s my collection of poems and essays about my beloved mom and I will include some of the photographs taken during her life and her memorial day service at the funeral. It is going to be a book full of memories, sorrow and some happy moments we shared together in life. She was my “Hero” and always will be no matter what even if she’s gone now. She will always live forever in my heart. My endless gratitude to my Mom for giving me the chance to love her and care for her in the last year, months, weeks and days of her life with our family. Thanks also for the love and care that she gave to us when we were little, we owe it all to our parents and to her especially for the devotion that she gave us in raising her kids to be able to care for her when she was getting older. I have retired early in life for a good reason and that’s to take good care of my ailing mom who had a stroke. Sadly enough, I lost her on February 29th, 2004. That’s almost ten years ago, but it seems like only yesterday. How time flies and I still have all our good memories to remember her by even when she have passed years ago.
(Excerpts from the Facebook Group Page: “Happiness is a choice”)
“Oly Trinity: There’s going to be a “Happiness is a choice” moment for me that I wanted to share with you all! With all of my kindness, passion and open heart”, I liked that as a 6Monthstolive.me blog enthusiast! Did you know where I got all those great qualities? From my dear mom, who passed and would have turned 101 yrs old by tomorrow since it’s her birthday on the 14th. she was the most generous, kind and passionate person I have ever known and loved. It’s so sad that my family have to commemorate my mom’s birthday with a visit to the holy cross cemetery here and bring a wreath since flowers are no longer allowed at this time of year (we bring her flowers at springtime or summer, too ). I missed her a lot but she always come and visit me in my dreams at times in color! Like reminiscing those good old happy memories and for that i’m so thankful! November 13 at 5:37pm”.
This is going to be my last post for now. I will be on Sabbatical leave starting January 31st, 2014 a few weeks after the first anniversary of my travel blog. I will be back sooner or later to tell you about the progress of the other dreams that I have to pursue in life. I want to make all of my dreams come true, one dream at a time. I have fulfilled my dream to have a travel blog so onward to the next dream; to be an honest to goodness Artist and have a solo painting exhibit sometime this year and will also probably coincide with my first Photography Exhibit in 2014/2015.
Then next in line with my dreams is to self-publish the book that I have started to write, about the collection of poems and essays that I have lovingly written for my beloved Mom. It will be dedicated to her and to my family, too. Hopefully, I can complete this book writing in 2014 or sooner. I also have to publish a collection of our native Filipino Recipes handed down from generation to generation in our family. The recipe book which is entitled “filipino cooking @ home” will have two volumes when completed and is almost ready for proofreading, printing and then self-publishing.
My real main project to complete first is the Art Project for 2014. I have a few projects to do and have been started already. Once completed, I will sell the “Giclée” prints on my new website which is an online art gallery. In giclée printing, no screen or other mechanical devices are used and therefore there is no visible dot screen pattern. The image has all the tonalities and hues of the original painting. Giclée is (pronounced Gee’clay) is a French term meaning to spray or squirt, which is how an inkjet printer works and then I will start rolling out the giclées and sell them online. The original watercolour paintings will remain in a vault as my personal collection and also for future art exhibits.
I might also join and enter the Toronto Outdoor Art Exhibition – TOAE at the Toronto City Hall, Nathan Philips Square or plan that for early 2015, the next season. And then participate on the District Distillery Art Fest Exhibit in the Spring and Summer of 2014 to be held in Toronto and Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
When all of these plans and dreams have been accomplished, then all of my dreams can come true to life. By that time I will be back posting on my Travel blog again. There will also be a blog section on my new website that will chronicle and keep track of my progress in making my other big dreams come true. The goals, the struggle and finally, the outcome and the triumph of all my endeavors. I will try my very best to juggle all of these dreams and hopefully by the end of 2014 and early 2015 my dreams will be completely realized.
I also intend to travel a bit as a break from the hectic schedule and come back refreshed from my travel trip, cruise or Eurail train travel. The Orient Express travel is in my bucket list and it might as well be a grand trip if I want to experience train travel to the fullest. So Orient Express here I come and there will be a lucky guy to sit by my side. Who it will be is going to be your lucky guess and I will reveal the secret identity of my travel companion when the right time arrives. So for now, wish me Good Luck and with lots of BIG DREAMS here I come chasing them over the Rainbows!
