My Day 21: ONTARIO TRAVEL SERIES #14 TORONTO CENTER ISLAND

A Day’s Adventure at Toronto Centre Island

Centre Island is a parkland off the shore of downtown Toronto in Ontario and it’s accessible just a few minutes away by ferry boats taken at Harbourfront near the foot of Queen’s Quay. Toronto Centre Island is also where the Centreville Amusement Park is located, with lots of rides and other attractions.

The Centre Island is also known as the Toronto Island and there are actually people living there and home to more than 250 residences. Visitors usually bring their own picnic lunch and spread out some blankets on the abundant green grass or find an empty picnic table around the picnic area. A family can have a wonderful outing there during summertime or on weekends. There are several restaurants and fast-food kiosks on Centre Island if you can’t bring your own picnic lunch. The Toronto Island Airport is also located there across from the Toronto skyline.

There are other islands like the Ward’s Island and Hanlan’s Point. Centre Island could mean a great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city especially for families with kids who likes to play and ride bikes in the open areas since there are bicycle paths and bike rentals available for all at the Toronto Centre Island.
